Inquest says explosion killed NZ miners (AP)

WELLINGTON, New Sjaelland – All 29 miners in a southern New Sjaelland combust mine died within minutes of an initial discharge that rocked the mine in November, an inquest heard Thursday.

The fates of the men had been doubtful for life after the Nov. 19 methane-fueled blast, because a buildup of malicious gases prevented rescuers from incoming the Pike River mine right the municipality of Greymouth. The miners were proclaimed departed exclusive fivesome life later, after a second massive wind that officials said would hit killed anyone underground.

Chief Coroner Neil MacLean said grounds showed the men died from a compounding of concussion, burns or hypoxia caused by toxic gases and a lack of pedal after the initial blast.

MacLean told the inquest at a regularise courthouse in Greymouth that the men's deaths occurred either at "the immediate instance of the super discharge that occurred in the mine or a rattling brief instance thereafter."

Earlier this month, officials said they forsaken attempts to recover the men's bodies because the mine is still thoughtful likewise chanceful and changeful for feat teams to enter.
