Mubarak's top aide held in Egypt corruption probe (AP)

CAIRO – Egypt's land programme agency says ousted President Hosni Mubarak's crowning aide has been inactive in the immorality investigations involving officials of the toppled regime.

Former presidential honcho of body Zakariya Azmi is the highest senior ex-official to be dispatched to slammer since solon stepped down on Feb. 11 in the face of a favourite uprising.

The official Middle East News Agency quoted prosecutor Assem al-Gawhari as saying Thursday that Azmi will be held for 15 life while authorities investigate allegations he used his powerful position to amass a fortune.

Egyptian prosecutors hit filed charges and bimanual travel bans and slammer instance to some former crowning senior officials. Many Egyptians study the prosecutions digit of their revolution's key achievements.
