Russia's church, lawmakers want to limit abortion (AP)

MOSCOW – Russia's important Orthodox Church and members of its parliament are employed unitedly to push governing that would limit abortions.

The governing — promoted weekday by the head of the parliamentary committee on families, women and children — would forbiddance free abortions at government-run clinics.

Russia has digit of the world's lowest fertility rates, patch the number of abortions is among the maximal in the world.

This is of serious anxiety for country as it fights to halt a steep population decline.

Committee cheater Yelena Mizulina said she wants to wager public speaking on abortions before the governing is submitted to parliament.

Church spokesman Vsevolod comic said the goal is to "live in a country without abortions."
