IRB brokers deal in Fiji World Cup crisis (AFP)

SUVA (AFP) – The International Rugby Board (IRB) said it had brokered an commendation between the Fiji's football union and government which should keep the Pacific island commonwealth in this year's World Cup.

"The government's commitment to momentous assets in Fiji's Rugby World Cup 2011 crusade (will) go aweigh as previously planned," the IRB said in a evidence on Saturday.

The commendation follows talks in Suva earlier this period involving IRB chief executive Mike Miller, state Sports Minister Filipe Bole and local football officials.

Miller flew to state following reports the expeditionary government was withholding Fiji$3 meg ($1.6 million) in World Cup resource after an enquiry found the FRU had mismanaged assets from a lottery.

"I am delighted that an commendation has been reached ... ensuring that the pore of the domestic team relic unwaveringly on preparing for Rugby World Cup 2011," playwright said in the statement.
