LONDON – Leaked U.S. smooth cables expose that nation officials initially considered Asiatic President Asif calif Zardari a "numbskull" who would not last daylong in office.
In cables free Sat by the WikiLeaks website, nation officials offer a demoralised assessment of Pakistan's prospects faced with financial disturbance and Taliban violence.
Zardari is the man of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, assassinated in late 2007. He was elected chair in Sept 2008.
The next month, then head of the nation expeditionary Jock Stirrup told U.S. officials that although Zardari has "made adjuvant political noises, he's understandably a numbskull."
But the next month a nation functionary said Zardari had finished "surprisingly well" and the U.K. had underestimated him.
